While little has been released about Crysis 2 at this moment, after the astonishing visuals, equipment and weaponry of Crysis and Crysis Warhead, Crysis 2 is certain to have large shoes to fill when it is released sometime in 2010.
The game is set to feature an upgraded version of the original's Nanosuit, and a shift in the scene from the tropical jungle to the concrete jungle of a city in the grip of alien attack.
Look out for Crysis 2 sometime in the fourth quarter of 2010.
Fallout: New Vegas (360, PC, PS3)
Who knows if Fallout: New Vegas will be even seen this yearHowever, after to technical and critical success of the Game Of The Year 2008, Fallout 3, Obsidian Entertainment are sure to succeed in extending the series even further.
Based on a brief mention of a "New Vegas" by Tycho in the original Fallout, New Vegas is not a direct sequel to Fallout 3, but instead further expands the universe of the series.
If we see New Vegas by the end of the year, it may be the RPG of the year.
God of War III (PS3)
In the fifth and final installment of the God of War series, players will once again take control of Kratos' trademark Blades of Athena, along with his new gadgets The Golden Fleece and Wings of Icarus, acquired during the events of God of War II, on his search for vengeance against the Gods who decieved and abandoned him.
The player will lead Kratos on a final assault on Olympus in an attempt to destroy the Greek GodsIn a demo showcased at the E3 2009, Kratos and the Titan Perses fight their way through Olympia and kill the God Helios, but later Kratos appears to be killed by Perses.
God of War III should see players hacking and slashing their way through Ancient Greece from March 2010.
Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)
After six years without a home console release, Polyphony Digital has finally jumped onto the Playstation 3 bandwagon with the release of Gran Turismo 5 in mid-2010With Forza Motorsport occupying GT's mantle as best racing game for the past few years, it looks as if the Playstation exclusive may be ready to retake its crown.
GT5 boasts a number of brand new features and licencesOnline play is available with support for up to 16 playersGran Turismo 4 had originally included online play support but it was dropped before releaseA weather system has also been implemented, though creator Kazunori Yamauchi has stated he is unsure about what place it will have in the release versionThe popular fan request for mechanical and cosmetic damage has also been installed, though most road cars feature only minor scratches and the like due to requests by the manufacturersBut when this is added together with an almost lifelike graphics engine, the Gran Turismo series has made leaps and bound since its last home console release.
While the game has reportedly been put on hold for an indefinite period of time, Sony has stated that this delay will only affect the Japanese release, so American, European and Australian gamers should expect to see Gran Turismo 5 released in mid-2010.
